Ever since getting back from Blogger Bash in NYC I have been getting in lots of fun new toys to play with and discover. The kids of course wanted to dive in to them all right away, but to make the fun last and not lose all the pieces in just a day I decided to make this in to a weekly series where I showcase toys that we love this week. It will be our way of showing you toys that are just being released or old favorites that have been revamped. I am excited for this new series and I hope that you will join us each Monday as we bring toys that we love this week.
As a little girl I remember getting my first easy bake oven. This is what fostered my love of baking. Now the creations I made may not have tasted that great, but I loved the idea of them and am passing it on to my daughter. Yummy Nummies takes the concept of the easy bake oven to a new, faster, and unique direction. Yummy Nummies has a variety of foods from cupcakes, donuts, and even a hamburger. We got the cupcake one from BBNYC and decided to have a little tea party with homemade treats. Yummy Nummies come with a small tray, utensils, and mix so that you don’t have to use any extra dishes. You cut part of the tray off and that is where you will put the tiniest of cupcake liners. Each pack comes with directions and you only need to add water and mix. What I loved is that my daughter could use her counting skills to count out the scoops of mix to water. Pop it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds and the cupcakes are done. It even comes with its own frosting and piping bags.
My daughter had so much fun with these and getting to decorate cupcakes like mommy does gave her such joy. I want to try all the varieties now! They even have their own soda pop maker. How cute!! This will for sure be going on our birthday/Christmas wish lists!
I have been watching my friends’ two girls as well as having my own for all of August. It is HOT here in Texas. While I wish we could spend all of our waking hours at the pool, I just can’t manage to take four kids to the pool by myself. Well I could, but I don’t really want that headache. I got some samples as well as bought some Zuru Bunch O’Balloons and what better way to cool off with some water and cross one more thing off our summer bucket list than to have a water balloon fight. The Bunch O’Balloons are water balloons that are attached to a plastic tube which is then attached to a nozzle that easily screws on to a hose. As the water flows through the tubes, the balloons get filled. When they are close to being full you raise the hose and the balloons start popping off the pipe. They self seal since they have a tiny rubber band around the openings.
I was able to fill 400 water balloons in a matter of about 5 minutes. No really I did. How long would that have taken to do individually? Forever! I bought a bucket of the individual water balloons at the beginning of summer since I wanted that to be one of our bucket list items, but this…this was better! It took the kids only about 10 minutes to bust them all and 45 minutes to clean up since they kept complaining. haha
The Bunch O’Balloons comes in a three pack for around $9-$10 and makes 100 water balloons. Seriously what took so long for this contraption to be invented? It rocks! Bonus is the little pipes can be left on the hose to create a fun water sprinkler.
I can’t wait until next week to bring you the second edition of toys we love this week. The kids are sure enjoying this series and I think your kids will too. Hey it can’t hurt to get some ideas for Christmas that is not some annoying commercial 🙂
