If you read the post before this I hinted that we are saying yes to new things this year. Our biggest one is that my husband is taking a new job in a new state. This isn’t something we were seeking, yes my husband was looking for a new job, but not out of state. He was contacted, interviewed, and we decided to take this new step up for him and his career.
The next few months will be a bit crazy in my life as my husband is going up to work while the kids and I are staying here in Texas until the school year ends. Both of my kids play soccer and we don’t want them to miss out on the rest of their season. I also have PTA duties that I don’t want to have to shove off on someone new. We need time to be able to get our house ready to sell and make sure that we choose a place in Ohio that is a good fit for our family and school for the kids.
It is crazy to think that after 37 years of living in Texas that I will be living somewhere totally new. I have to say that I am ready for this change and new adventure. It will give our family a new city to explore, and there are a lot of other cities that we will be able to drive to that we have never been to before. My husband has extended family that live in Ohio, and some other surrounding states that we will get to visit. Within a couple of years, we will most likely be coming back to Texas when my husband’s new job has him traveling more and he won’t have to be based in Ohio.
The blog may change a bit over the next couple of months as I navigate our household and start getting our house ready to sell. I want to be able to share with you all the struggles and triumphs of this new adventure. It may get quiet from time to time. Heck I just thought I was busy before. But you know what, my husband deserves this opportunity and if that means some changes for our family, then sign me up.
Have you ever made a huge move across the country for a job? What advice do you have for me and my family? Or tips on getting a house ready to sell? I could use all the help and advice you can offer!
I’m torn. On the one hand, I’m super excited for you, but on the other, I’m sad that you’ll be leaving and I won’t see you at events anymore 🙁
I know you’ll be great and it’s a fantastic opportunity for your family. I’m happy that you’re so supportive of your hubby, it really shows what a team you two are!
I’ve made a few big moves in my life, some because of my dad’s job and some because I was a crazy youngin’ that thought I knew everything! Heck, that’s how I ended up in Texas!
I wish you the best and I’m looking forward to reading about your adventure!!!
It is bittersweet news for sure. We will be back to visit plenty since our family is here.
