There is just something about having bubbles in a drink that is hard to resist. I was admittedly a long time soda drinker because I just really like having the carbonation. But as I am on my quest for a healthier life, I have grown to love sparkling water as a substitute to sugary soda. Just by me drinking sparkling water, the habit has rubbed off on my kids. I want to share with you some ways to beat the soda habit. Ozarka has joined the sparkling water craze, by offering a variety of new flavors.

The liter bottles that you can find at just about any grocery store now are great for a family to share, but there are times when you just want to take a bottle on the go and the bigger bottle doesn’t fit in most cupholders. Ozarka decided to come out with half liter bottles in 6 packs that are easy to grab and go when I head out for errands or the soccer field. I will let you in on a little secret, my husband has started taking them as well versus reaching for a soda!

So what are some ways to beat the soda habit?

  • It isn’t always easy to break the habit of having sugary drinks and there are several approaches you can take. Cold turkey may be a bit harsh, so trying having one less a day/week, then slowly making your way down to none.
  • Subbing sparkling water like the new Ozarka line is a great substitute so that you are still getting the bubbles like a soda. If you still want a bit of sweetness, consider adding some of the liquid stevia drops to the Ozarka sparkling water.
  • Stock your fridge with drinks you can grab and go like the .5 liter Ozarka sparkling water bottles. This way you can carry it with you throughout the day in an easily portable bottle.

Trust me you feel better if you can cut the sugar where possible. Kicking the soda habit to the curb is a huge one! And if you have kids, it will help set a good example to them to hydrate with water more. My kids love their bubble water now! No need to keep the sugar drinks in the house anymore.

What are some ways to beat the soda habit that you can share? Instead of going down the soda aisle, go down the water and sparkling water aisle. With flavors like orange, lemon, and if you are lucky the black cherry is amazing! We are loving the Ozarka sparkling water in smaller bottles and make sure to keep it stocked for easy grab and go.
