Today I share again our pet adoption story and how this month Sam’s Club can help you give back to those who take care of pets when we can’t. Thanks #CollectiveBias for helping me share in this journey with #PedigreeGives. This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.
Around my son’s birthday earlier this year we talked about possibly getting a dog. I didn’t know if we were completely ready to get one, so we decided to just head to our local humane society and see what dogs they had that day in hopes of seeing what type we would be interested in getting but not necessarily get one that day. There were a few that I had seen online and REALLY wanted, but they had been claimed earlier in the day. The little puppies were just so precious and there were plenty that immediately tugged at our heart strings.
We could only bring one in a day to pet and see if our family would be a fit. We brought in this scruffy little girl dog that was just so lovable and instantly loved on the kids. She had these crazy longs for how little her body was and how young she was. I immediately knew that she was going to be a part of our life. She wasn’t the type of dog that I thought we would get, but she just fits.
Cinder or Cinderella as she was called at the shelter has had her doggy fairy tale come true. She has become a part of our family and really has made us complete. She has been a handful to train, has torn up TONS of toys, and makes our house so messy, but we love her and she is such a sweet dog. She still thinks she is a little puppy though she has grown to over 30 pounds. She loves to snuggle around my neck on the couch.
There are so many precious animals that are left or taken to shelters and none of them deserve to be there. October is national pet adoption month and Pedigree, maker of pet food products, wants to help give back to those animals in shelters and our family does as well. For each product purchased at Sam’s Club this month, Pedigree will donate one bowl of food to pets in need.
We purchased some Pedigree dog food at Sam’s Club that we are going to send to some local shelters so that they can feed those precious fur babies until they can find a home. Please if you are thinking of getting a pet. Go to a shelter first!!! There are so many deserving pets that need homes, especially the old fellas 🙂
I am so glad that we can give back and also help support Pedigree give back. Follow them on their social channels to stay connected and support their efforts by going to Sam’s Club today!!
