As most of you may know, I have been on a journey to lose weight and get healthy for almost 2 years now. It has been quite a journey. I have used different products, different methods and lots of running. For just about a month now, I have been trying out the Shaklee 180™ Turnaround™ Kit  from the Shaklee Corporation.

This system is a combination of meal bars, shakes, snack bars, metabolism booster and energizing tea to help boost your metabolism and in turn help you to lose the unwanted pounds. You have one meal and several snacks that you do all on your own so if you are thinking that I don’t get real food, then you are wrong. The thing is making the food that you do eat, good choices.

I started out the month at 137.2 pounds and am kinda embarrassed to say that I am only down .4 pounds. It has been a rough month. Lots of stress, lots of not running near as much as I should, lots of questions.

I have to say that I love the shakes!!! I was doing protein shakes pretty much every morning anyways so this was an easy transition. Throw in some spinach and frozen berries and it is a super fast breakfast. For a mom, this is fabulous. I need things that are quick and easy in the morning. Otherwise, I wind up skipping breakfast then getting so hungry I eat everything in sight.

I am still trying to figure out the rest of the day. I like snacking on fruits and veggies, but like I said earlier stress has made me eat sugary extras that I really do need to cut out and watch. It doesn’t help that I have a home bakery, so some treats are almost always around.

I am also still trying to figure out fueling for my runs. I can’t cut my calories too much, otherwise my runs are sluggish or I just don’t do them at all. I don’t like this!!! I want to keep up with my runs and continue with doing more long distance running. It helps lessen my pain and stress when I get good runs in throughout the week.

This is all a learning process. On that note, I have decided to take myself out of the program for now. I don’t think it is a bad program, it just isn’t working for me right now and also I need to get my head on straight about fueling properly for my runs so that I keep doing them.

This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support, and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own.
People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
