If you remember, I visited New Orleans a little while ago to test drive the Lexus RC and RC F. Man I wish I had one to drive right now!! They were fun π I also recounted the first part of my trip and how it took me 12 hours just to get to New Orleans. It was quite and adventure and I was sure glad when I finally made it to the hotel and got some good food in me!

The next morning I was tired, but ready to get my hands on one of the 2015 Lexus RC F cars and take a spin around New Orleans. It was so cool to be able to drive along the streets of New Orleans and see places that you sometimes see on tv or in movies. We also stopped by Loyola University on our drive to take a few pictures of the car against their beautiful campus. It is really like a gem hidden in the streets. I dig the architecture and look of the buildings and homes in New Orleans as well as the trolleys that carry people back and forth. It is like stepping back in time for sure.

Later that morning we were to drive out to Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, LA. The drive out was cool because we went from city driving to feeling like you are in the middle of a swamp along a long bridge. Don’t tell anyone, but we kinda went the wrong way on the way there, but actually enjoyed the ride better than on the way back. Oh and very thankful for GPS that helped us get there when we didn’t follow directions on the paper π
I have always wanted to go see a plantation. I mean you hear about them and see them on old movies and just wonder what I would be like to visit one and be transported back to a more simple time where people worked hard to grow crops. As you pull up to Oak Alley Plantation, you are greeted by the massive Live Oaks. While there we got a tour of the grounds and Big House. It is quite a site and I loved hearing the stories behind the house, how they grew up, and their little quirks. The tour guides are filled with lots of info!!!
At the end of the tour, you can even sip on a Mint Julep to really take you back in time, dine on some delicious food, or shop and take a treasure home with you to remember your time there. It was cool to hear about all the movies and other things that have been filmed there, like Brad Pitt in Interview with a Vampire!! π
Overall it was a great quick trip to New Orleans. Of course once we got back from the plantation I had to take a walk to get a beignet at the famous Cafe Du Monde. Though I am not supposed to eat gluten, they are just too good to pass up!! Tip: don’t wear dark colors when you go eat there (the powdered sugar gets everywhere) and they only take cash. It was a whirlwind trip and thankfully my flight home was quick and uneventful.

What fun places have you visited in New Orleans? Where do you recommend I go next time?
Until the next adventure….
Started drooling when you mentioned beignet —–
