This last week has really thrown me for a loop. I knew there would be symptoms associated with starting chemo and radiation, but they really overwhelmed me. This whole cancer journey has been an eye opener and caused me to be more fierce and tough and stronger than I ever thought I could be. It has taken a toll on my body, my family, and my life as a whole.
Hearing that you have cancer of any sort just seems to take your breath away the moment you hear it. We all like to hope that it will never be us who get that diagnosis and when you actually do it changes you. It has changed me by helping me rely on others when I knew I couldn’t do it all myself. It has helped me have a stronger determination to get myself healthy and stronger than I ever have been before. It has helped me see who and what really matters to me.
Sure I could go curl up in a ball and cry for days, but it wouldn’t really help. Cancer has made me realize that I have so much to live for and my kids and family need me. This is a setback for sure, but one that I can make it through. I have come so far with it already and just can’t wait to get through this new chapter so that I can get back to life and use this as a stepping stool and lesson learned.
So how are you Fierce? What or who has taught you to be a strong woman? Clever Girls Collective wants to encourage women to be a better you and has started their movement called Fierce Fund. They want to support organizations by giving them $20,000 to keep women motivated and fierce. Voting closes today so if you can get over there and vote. The winner will be announced November 4th!
Go out and be fierce!!
Go fierce woman go! You are rocking the blue hair and I applaud your positive attitude towards your cancer. Wishing you happiness, health and strength!
What a great project!
