This last week has been rough to say the least. Between a cold, hurting my toe, and the monthly visitor, my diet went completely out the window. I was in so much pain that I used food to “try” and make myself feel better. I was craving sweets like nobodies business!! And working out and even normal moving around was put on a hold. I think that did me in more than the food. If I had been able to move around and get some housework and other things done then I for one, wouldn’t have eaten so much and two if even I had eaten that bad at least I was working some of it off.
It is funny how life sure gets in the way and puts things on hold when you don’t really have time for it. It is also funny that I still turn to sweets when I am in pain or stressed. Why is that?? I know I have a sweet tooth, but had been doing so much better at curbing it. But a good chunk of chocolate or some cookies were all I wanted!!
I have got to learn to control my cravings when things like this come up and also find better alternatives to the calorie and sugar laden snacks. Thankfully I didn’t gain any weight, but I also didn’t lose any which was a bit frustrating. The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty crazy with closing on our new house, moving and family time. I hope that I can keep my focus on food. I need to go get some healthy snacks made and ready to go for whenever I have the cravings and am short on time.
If you have any good recipes that satisfy the sweet tooth while still being good for you, I would love for you to share!!

Soooo, that company I've been working with UNREAL sent me a 25 lbs. box of their candy. Because I know it doesn't have any HFCS, GMOs, additives or preservatives, I've been eating it. And I haven't eaten candy FOR YEARS…cause I just dont' have it in the house. But now I do…I've had to put it up high where I can't reach it. Yes, I'm confessing to you…LOL
I crave bread, and I totally understand how you feel. I think that having available fruits and peanut butter, cheese, etc is good because when I really want to snack I go to those, and if I have the bread I go to that. Good luck.
You know I used to crave dark chocolate- so much that I would keep a few (yes a few- dark dove chocolate bars in the house) but if it makes it any better- I'd only eat a square or two at a time. I haven't had it in a couple of weeks and I feel like -thinking about it now- that I don't want it. Could it have been somethign to do w/my hormones since the baby was born? who knows- but i&#
I had a huge sweet craving this week too! I ran to the store to pick up toilet paper and came back with a package of milano cookies… they were gone in like 2 days!
Congrats on your new house!! 🙂 So exciting! Hope you have a wonderful week of family time & good luck moving!

I am not normally a person who chooses sweets but I can relate these last couple of weeks! I am currently trying VERY hard to not eat any artificial sugar, but with my monthly visitor just around the corner, I am am really fighting to not indulge in some chocolate!
Sweets are my weakness and the reason I work out. I've noticed that since I have been seeing results with my diet and exercise plan I crave them less and less.
I'm the same way and even though at times I think I licked it, I get back on the need for sweets or carbs. I hope you feel better soon! Just remember tomorrow is another day!
I have found that it's best to just do something else when the sweets cravings come up. Personally, finding substitutions for naughty foods just makes me crave more naughty foods.
