There are many times when I hear about a certain vehicle that I will be reviewing that I have a preconceived notion of how I will feel about driving it. The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Premier was one of those vehicles that proved my notions wrong. See I thought it might be just another car, nothing special, pretty run of the mill. I am sure that most of you have seen the commercial where they take the Chevy symbols out of the vehicle and ask who they think makes it. There were guesses of BMW I think, as well as other notable companies that make higher end vehicles. Is that really what it looks like in person? Now was my time to see for sure.
The stunning kinetic blue metallic of this 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was surely eye catching. It is a bold color choice that seems to fit this fun and spunky little car. The design and outside look of the car is definitely upgraded from previous models that I have seen. The front grill alone has some unique design features that add to the overall nice look and appeal to most buyers.
The inside of the car was just as appealing and boasted more features than I would have thought. The sleek black interior was not overdone or over designed for this type of car. One of my favorite features of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was the cell phone holder slot. My iPhone 6S slide right into the pocket and did not slide around like it does in most vehicles. It was close by and I knew that it would not go flying if we had to put on the brakes quickly. One fact that I didn’t find out until after was that if you have a compatible Android phone, it will wirelessly charge it in this little pocket.
My kids were more than comfortable in the back seats. Their booster fit in just fine and I think even their larger boosters would fit as well. The second row even had heated seats and a regular plug. The trunk space in this car is almost deceiving. From the outside, it looks like there isn’t much trunk space, but I found that there was an ample amount for a family of four. I was able to get my grocery shopping for the week done and packed inside with room to spare.
This car has some spunk. It accelerated with ease and had more pep than I was expecting. It has a sporty feel and I had a blast driving it for my kids last week of school. I would recommend this car for a variety of people as it has a mass appeal not only in look, but in function. My preconceived notions that I wouldn’t like this car were changed to positive.
