I can’t believe that I now have two kiddos in preschool. By me watching two more kids during the week, we are blessed to be able to send Little Miss as well as Little Man to preschool. But what that means now is that I have to pack two lunches. And when your kids both eat very different things that means almost twice the thought and process 🙂
I started last year by sending Little Man’s lunches in reusable boxes and snack bags. I hate wasting money on all the plastic baggies and and stuff that will just get thrown away. Little Man loved all his different bags, but we really did need something that could hold items that were either wet or smaller.
Rubbermaid has come out with these nifty boxes that are similar to their other tupperware type things that snap on top of each other and even snap to a reusable ice pack!! The LunchBlox are already a hit at our house.
What I love is that they are small which is good for the kids lunches being as they don’t eat much. They even have little marks on the side to tell you how much you are putting in the containers. So I can put one ounce of hummus in the bottom of the container then fill the rest with carrots or other veggies. The kids can dip and eat all from one container.
Each lid has an indent so that you can snap several of the boxes together. You can mix and match what you need for any day and any food. The boxes even snap in to the ice pack so your items stay cool.
My kids love having their own little containers of food that they can see and even help mommy put in their lunches each day. We will be using these for a long time and will probably get more so that they can both mix and match based on what they want for lunch each day.
Here is a little more about them:
