So day 1 of my New York trip was a whirlwind with two events and my first cab ride. Day 2 was filled with all things Blogger Bash. The morning started with Check In at Pier 60 at the Chelsea Piers. Our first event of the day was a brunch with none other than the Care Bears. Aww this brings back so many memories from when I was a kid. I used to watch the cartoons and play with my stuffed bears. Now with a daughter of my own I am so excited that they are reviving the plushies and the cartoons. A little birdie told us that this fall they are bringing back Care Bears Cousins on Netflix. I will definitely be watching with my daughter.
I can let you all know that I am an official Care Bears Ambassador now!! We all took a super cute oath and can’t wait to celebrate #ShareYourCare day on September 9th. They even shared with us a boy who embodies the Share Your Care message. With the help of his parents Zachary Kaplan was able to raise $1200 for Tsunami victims and this year his goal is to hand out stuffed animals to homeless kids. Just like me own kids who have their own lovies, he wants for all kids to be able to have their very own stuffed animal that they can cuddle. Care Bears is going to help him with his goal and will be passing out some of their Care Bears. How can you Share Your Care with others?
Our next event of the day was for those with a VIP pass. I decided to take the one called The Ride. It is a fun bus ride that you can take around NYC to see most of the major sites. They incorporate the “hosts” inside the bus which are pretty funny and actors that are on the street to give us a little show when we hit some spots of the city. It is a great idea for if you want to see the city in a new light and have some funny conversations and views of the city versus the traditional bus tours.
Next in the day was the BIG Sweet Suite. Oh my goodness it was like a mecca of all things toys and I have to say I was excited to be able to walk among so many toys and companies without my kids!! We got sneak peeks at toys that will be hitting the store shelves in August and a little later this fall of course just before Christmas is coming.
I have a lot of favorites of the night, but here are a few that are my tops:
My kids and I love to watch Master Chef Junior. They will be coming out with a whole line of Master Chef Junior cooking utensils and kits. Now your kids can help you cook in the kitchen with accessories and tools that are made just for their smaller hands. A great way to get the kids in the kitchen!
Another toy my kids would flip over is the Little Live Pets Clever Keet from Moose Toys. It talks and remembers phrases. So cool. The Quixels would be a huge hit as well. We have been doing a lot of those melted bead things and Quixels uses a spray of water solution to fuse it together. Much safer and the kids could do it all on their own.
A toy just for mommy was the Perfect Drink scale and app. They have drink recipes loaded or you could add your own so that you have that perfect drink every time you make it. They have one that you can use for baking as well so that you can measure your recipes to be exact and just right.
There are so many more that I was able to touch and discover and can’t wait to share with you soon as I start doing reviews for the companies that were at Sweet Suite. I have a big box coming soon that I will be sharing with you all with more toys that I am sure we will all be excited about!
How fun!
