Moving into a new house means lots of packing and cleaning, but also means new decorations!! In our new house, we have a LOT more walls that we will need to cover with either pictures, posters, or other decorations. We definitely don’t have enough pictures to cover and fill up the blank walls.
For the most part, I love black and white photos. They are so crisp and clean and go with just about any style of furniture or wall color. What I also love is to to have it surrounded with a white border and black or other color frame. For my Living Room, I have a beach theme of pictures and for my bedroom I have several different black and white flowers.
But for my kids rooms, I was thinking of adding pops of color to their walls with posters of their favorite movies or characters and change them out as their taste in movies or favorites change. To keep the look uniform, I will probably use poster frames in black or white. Little Man’s room is a light blue and Little Miss’ is light pink and black, so for both the white would really pop and look good.
We still have a long way to go to make this house truly our own. I have such great ideas, but the budget only goes so far!! One project I do have is to use the vinyl chalkboard sheets I have to put up in the playroom then frame them so they kids can color on the walls, but also have a boundary to know where they can and can’t color. We will see how that experiment goes 🙂
