There is one thing about Valentine’s Day that I do love… Being able to make sweet treats for my family and friends. Baking is my way of showing people my love.

There are some times though that I just don’t want to turn on the oven, but I still want to make something sweet. Homemade PB cups are seriously the easiest thing you can make…maybe too easy 🙂 As in I need to make more because I already ate the ones I made for this post. Haha
You can make them in just about any shape. What you need first is the flexible silicone molds or silicone cupcake liners. The ones I used are actually mini cupcake liners.

Melt you choice of chocolate or almond bark in either a double boiler or in the microwave. I use a double boiler so that the chocolate stays melted throughout this whole process. Otherwise you will have to keep reheating it in the microwave which could cause the chocolate to overheat and get clumpy or burnt. If you don’t have a double boiler pan, like me, simply use a glass or metal bowl over a pan of simmering water.

Take the silicone molds and spoon some chocolate into them. You want just a light, thin coating of chocolate to cover the cavity of the mold. If it is too thick then there is less room for the peanut butter and it will also make it harder to eat the PB cups. Place the molds in the fridge until the chocolate is set, probably about 15-20 minutes.

You will then fill the molds almost all the way with peanut butter or whatever filling sounds good to you. Sunbutter would work for those allergic to nuts, or marshmallow fluff would also be divine!! Ohhhh… Caramel and some finely chopped pecans would be scrumptious!!

After putting the filling in, spoon more chocolate over the top to seal in the filling. Tap the molds just a little so that everything settles in. Place the molds back in the fridge until the chocolate is fully set.

Unmolding the chocolates is fairly easy with the silicone molds. Mine peeled right off. You are left with a fun heart shaped treat that I am sure your Valentine(or you) will love.
It doesn’t have to be hard to make with a thousand steps or ingredients to show that you put thought and effort into this simple Valentine gift. Put them into a cute bag or box to really dress them up 🙂
Enjoy and Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!!
