This is a sponsored post on behalf of Alpine Lace Deli Cheese, but the list is my own 🙂
Last week, my friend and I decided we were going to do a one day road trip to see our other friend/my SIL for her birthday. Little Man didn’t have a soccer game and we really had no other plans so it was a perfect opportunity to get away. This is one of those life ingredients that you need to stay sane in mommyhood. Being in the house everyday with the same routine can get monotonous, so getting away from the everyday even if it is for only one day can be refreshing for the soul.
One thing that can be hard for me on road trips is eating. I have to eat a gluten free diet and lets face it, on the road there is usually not much besides fast food. So one way I make sure that I can eat while on the road is by making taking some gluten free road trip snacks.
I tried something new this weekend. I took Alpine Lace Reduced Fat Deli Swiss Cheese topped it with some turkey pepperoni and rolled it up. Now I have an instant protein source that is super simple to make and take with me on road trips.
Gluten Free Road Trip Snacks:
–Alpine Lace Deli Cheese rollups
-Grapes or other fruit
-Gluten Free caramel rice cakes
– Nuts mixed with dried fruit
It only took me about 10 minutes to gather all my snacks then I was ready to hit the road. Great thing is that I know I have food that I will be able to eat and won’t make me sick. Add a couple of ice packs and something to drink. Another great trick is to freeze water bottles so that they can be your cold pack for the trip then later in the trip you can drink them.
I really believe that sometimes you just need to get away to help clear your mind a bit. And if you get to see a friend for her birthday in the meantime, all the better! It is just one more ingredient that helps make life that more fun and enjoyable. Do you have any life ingredients to share?
