Dinner time can often be a headache for me. The kids usually wind up eating something completely different from my husband and I. I wind up feeling like a short order cook at times. There are some days that I just crave simple easy foods that my kids eat, but since I have a gluten intolerance I can’t. And sometimes you just want some good ole chicken strips with gravy and all those down home sides.
Sure there are a few brands of gluten free chicken on the market, but I will be honest, most taste horrible. Finding good premade gluten free foods that actually taste good is hard and can be expensive!!
Tyson Foods has their own version of gluten free chicken breast strips and they gave me the opportunity to test them out. The package is easily distinguished between the regular kind with its green label. We decided to try out the strips.
Just by looks, you would never know they were gluten free and I think they really delivered on taste as well. The Tyson® Gluten Free Chicken Breast Strips are a good size and reminded me of chicken fried chicken. Oh man, it has been so long since I have had that and boy did it satisfy that craving!! Served with some mashed potatoes and green beans, I sure felt like I was eating like I used to.
The kids liked them to, though they would have preferred the nuggets since they like to eat with their hands 🙂 And they didn’t even know that they were gluten free which is a winner in mommy’s book. Finally we can have one dinner that we can all enjoy and eat together and it doesn’t make me feel like I am being left out or feel like a short order cook.
Now I am kind of wishing I had made some gluten free gravy to go along with them! Mmmmm.
Thanks Tyson Foods for helping my family be able to eat a quick easy meal together that we all enjoy!! Check to see if there are at a store near you now.
