Soccer Mom Life is back. Tell a friend. Sorry if you now have that song stuck in your head. But really, go tell a friend. Soccer Mom Life is coming back. Life has not been what I would have imagined our next steps to be. From deciding to move to a whole new state, to that falling through, to now where we are in our second rental house in a year.
So I guess I need to take you all back to where it started with this new phase of life. November of 2017, my husband accepted a job offer to move to Ohio. I have lived in Texas my whole life so this was going to be a huge change for me and my family. He went to go work in Ohio in Feb of 2018. May of 2018, we sold our house and myself and the kids were planning to move at the end of school. Two weeks after we sold the house, the company in Ohio let my husband go with no warning, no help back, nothing. So I scrambled to find us a rental house, which I did, just a street behind our old house. Let me tell you that was hard not to turn and go to the house we had spent the last 6 years in and worked so hard on fixing.
My husband wound up being out of work for over a month, but eventually found a good company to work for. Now this was totally different position than he was doing before and it was a sales position. Needless to say it has been a rough year. His paycheck dropped drastically, but our budget was not at a first year position level. I found a job at a local church working in childcare, which I just love. It is only part time, but it does work with my kid’s school schedule.
Just keeping it real… life hasn’t been all roses. I know we all have hard times that we go through in our life. This last year and a half has been a doozy. This blog had to be put to the wayside. My brain could only handle doing so much each day, working outside the house was a lot for me physically, and my kids have a busy schedule with soccer. There just wasn’t the time or much left of myself each day to give to the blog and find the words to share anymore.
I am working some this summer at the church when they have things available, but it is very limited. We moved into a new rental a couple of weeks ago that was smaller rent(and a much smaller house), to help ease some of the financial burden. My plan is to get this blog up and going again so that I can earn money doing something that I have loved for the past 8 years. Holy moley I can’t believe I have been writing for that long. As someone who wasn’t the biggest English fan in school, it is funny that I now enjoy writing as an outlet.
So that is a quick and abbreviated version of where I have been and why I haven’t been able to jump on here much to chat and share. I am starting to get things on the books again to write about and hope to make this a part of my life story again. I love being able to share things I am doing, products I have used, and places I have visited. I hope you will share with a friend my blog and social pages so that I can connect with more people through my words here on the page. Trust me when I say I have some stories to share of the journey life has been taking.
Thank you for sticking around those who have followed for a long time, and I can’t wait to connect with even more of you out there!!
