Well, it’s that time again, good ole update on my Nutrisystem weight loss.  Unfortunately, I do not have great news, only down a pound in the last couple of weeks.  While that’s not good for the overall storyline, here’s what is GREAT about that news.  Over the last 2 weeks, I haven’t really worked out except for doing the yard on the weekends, and I still maintained and lost a little bit of weight.  Why does this excite me?  Because I am THAT GUY, the one who can lose it, but not keep it off.  Maintaining my weight without exercise (note: I work mostly standing up and walking), is an exciting prospect.
Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean I’ve given up on exercising, it just means that I might finally have learned the most important thing to maintain my weight long-term… portion control.  I wouldn’t say that I was a binge eater before, but as I’ve discussed, it was sometimes well after noon before I used to eat.  When you get to the point that you have a headache and are feeling dizzy, it’s almost too late.  I would then just shovel copious amounts of food into my body until I was in a state of numbness.  That’s how you get to be fat guy, even when you have a job that keeps you moving 75% of the time you’re at work.
So, down to just under 225, still a weight loss of over 21 pounds since the start of this journey.  And what a journey it’s been.  I feel better, have more energy to play with the kids, and I get motivating comments from co-workers and guests about how I’m looking.  “Wow, I haven’t seen you in 2 months, looks like you went down a couple of sizes bro!”  That feels good and fuels the fire to keep going.  What I really look forward to is the day the comments stop.  Huh?  You know, when I’ve gotten to my goal weight and no one is surprised anymore because I’ve KEPT IT OFF!  Yeah, I wanna be THAT GUY!
As I inch ever closer to that ideal weight, I can’t help but look ahead to “youknowwhen” (yep, one word)…. the Holidays.  I know I should be focused on the here and now, but since school is getting ready to start back up, I’m already in that mode of gearing up for the silly season.  I call it the silly season because we do things we wouldn’t normally do during the rest of the year, you know, like wear sweaters with reindeer and a nose that lights up.  Silly, get it?  Anywho, I think I’ve learned my lesson and can handle any major holiday that comes my ways.  Till next time, good eating, and lose some pounds!
