Week 21 and 22
Falling behind on my posts!  Been a busy couple of weeks with my son headed off to Arkansas, the wife and daughter went to Austin for a birthday (happy 2nd Gavin!), end of the month and inventory at the restaurant, blah blah blah!  I could go on, just need another couple hours in each day and I’ll be good.
Can’t believe that I’m four months into the Nutrisystem plan now.  Not sure where all the time went, but we’re still truckin’ right along.  Down now to 222.2!  Nice round number, huh?  Can’t wait to get under that 220 number though, right around the corner.  24.4 pounds have melted away from this not-as-oversized-as-I-used-to-be body.  I haven’t been exercising as much as I did at the beginning, but just losing the weight in general has helped with my energy level.
I used to rely on coffee and caffeine to keep me going everyday, but now somedays when I wake up I head straight for the cereal or nut bar.  I actually went 2 days last week without drinking any coffee.  I still can’t figure out if it’s just getting out of a routine or if my body just doesn’t need it as much.  I’m not going to fight it though, I used to drink WAY too much of that liquid stuff.
I’ve got a rough couple of weeks coming up, and I’m trying to get a lot done before the big day.  October 14th is our 6thanniversary.  I’ve almost completed all the little things that need to get done with moving into a new house.  Just a closet to finish up and have to get the storage under the stairs straightened out.  I had the best results when we first moved in and I was staying active everyday when I got home from work.
I guess what I’ve learned above all else is this… portion control and paying attention to what you put in your mouth is the first most important step to having a good diet.  Staying active and not sitting on your behind will keep the weight off.  Simple, to the point, and at my age, so true.  I love being active, doing things with the wife and kids, but just seem to let the rigors of work keep me from staying motivated to get up and get out.  Well, time to head home and get back at it.
