Thanks to Advil for sponsoring this conversation today on Surviving a Cold- Tools and Tips.

Man what has been with this winter in Houston? In one day it can go from sunny and 80 to rainy and 45 within hours. My head feels like it is going to explode most days from all the pressure back and forth. I am also noticing more and more that people are getting sick. The swing in weather is not helping at all. Thankfully the winter sickies have not hit our house much, but I figured I should be prepared so I want to show the best products/practices for surviving a cold.

Surviving a Cold- Tools for Getting Through It

  • First up is medicine. There are so many out there, but one thing I know is that I often have a headache when I get sick from the sinus pressure. So I want a medicine that will be both for pain and sinus relief. Advil® Cold & Sinus gives you the help with those pains associated with sickness as well as relief from the cold symptoms.

essential oil eye mask

  • Another item I use whether I am sick or not is an essential oil eye mask that can be heated or cooled. When your head feels like it is about to bust apply this to your forehead or your neck. Either place will offer some relaxation.

hot bath for surviving a cold

  • Take a hot bath with epsom salts. The salts will help draw out the sickness that has come over you. The hot bath will be relaxing and if you get the epsom salts with eucalyptus it will be a game changer when surviving a cold.
  • Fluids and lots of fluids. I know that the last thing you want to do is drink when your throat hurts or nose is dripping, but it will help flush those germs right out of your body.
  • Grab a big fluffy blanket, curl up on the couch, and just rest your body. It is so hard to do this part when you are a mom, but just do it. Even if for just an hour or two to recharge.

tools for surviving a cold

Surviving a cold can be just a little easier if you have the proper tools and most importantly medicine that treats your symptoms like that in Advil cold and sinus.

  • When your cold and flu symptoms become too much, only Advil® Cold & Sinus is the #1 pharmacist recommended brand to treat your worst symptoms.
  • Advil® Cold & Sinus combines Advil® – the number-one selling pain reliever – and a powerful nasal decongestant to provide fast, powerful relief.
  • Ask for it at the pharmacy counter!
