Let me start by saying just walking into the Deerbrook 24 AMC Prime theater was a whole new experience in watching movies. Imagine being able to go into the theater even late and have a seat that is reserved just for you. Yep no fighting over getting there early to make sure you are not sitting in the very front row. With AMC Prime you get to reserve your own seat and the seats.. oh they are glorious. Large leather seats that are soft and comfy and recline! The seats even rumble when the movie gets loud and action packed. Here are my thoughts about Zootopia in Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime. I promise no spoilers since I think you should experience the movie for yourself.
The Dolby Cinema experience is a total all around experience. The sound quality is amazing and you feel as though you are in the movie and the surroundings. I was able to go with my family, other bloggers, and our friends to see Disney’s Zootopia the day after it opened in theaters. There are not many Disney films that I don’t love and Zootopia did not disappoint, The premise behind the movie is a world where animals are like humans(clothes and all) and the main character Judy Hopps has a dream to become a police officer in the big city.
Zootopia is a movie filled with messages for kids as well as adults. I like that there are references only adults (Hello Breaking Bad) will get so don’t think that this is just another cartoon movie for kids. The characters deal with real issues that are relevant to things that are going on in the world today like bullying, leaders we can’t trust, and other things. There are a few parts which younger kids could see as scary when some of the animals revert back to their “savage” beginnings. My daughter is 6 and there was a few places she didn’t like, but overall I think it is a movie most kids age 6 and up can handle.
We all fell in love with the characters. Seriously Flash and the other sloths in the DMV were hilarious and I think something we all think about when we go to a place like that.. haha This movie gives kids a positive view of cops and their role in our society. We could all use more Judy Hopps and her passion for helping those who are in trouble and making our world safe. I was a little disappointed that they used the Boy Scouts as bullies in the movie to shed a bad light on an organization that can be so good for young boys in learning life skills and camaraderie.
I think kids and adults will get a lot of life lessons through this movie and I highly recommend you take your whole family to see it. If you want to experience Zootopia in Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime then you only have one week to make it a showing. Either way go see Zootopia with your kids. I can’t wait to go back and really take in more of the movie.
