We all remember the names that people used to call those who had wire orthodontic braces. Brace Face, Metal Mouth and many many more. Wire braces in your mouth could not be missed. Thankfully for kids and adults today there is Invisalign! This is a sponsored post on behalf of Invisalign. I was compensated for this post, but thoughts are my own.

When I was younger one of my permanent teeth came in well before my baby tooth was ready to give up its spot. Therefore, my permanent tooth wound up growing out instead of down. We eventually had the baby tooth pulled, but my adult tooth never fully got in to place and has left my other teeth crooked and with a slight hole. I have always been self conscious of it and wanted to get it fixed.

I looked in to orthodontia last year, but it turns out my upper jaw is slightly smaller than my lower jaw when it should be the other way around. I would have to have surgery to expand my jaw as well as getting braces at the same time. I think my biggest reserve, besides the price, was going to have to have metal braces in my mouth for who knows how long. What adult really wants that??

Invisalign is now the alternative to being called brace face. With clear plastic trays that you simply slip in to your mouth, your teeth can gradually be straightened just the same way that metal braces would do but less noticeable. What is great is that you can take them in and out. So no more getting food stuck in your braces or breaking off brackets because you ate something too hard. When you eat, you can slip the Invisalign out and eat away. Afterwards, you just brush your teeth and slip the Invisalign back in. I know teens will be especially happy to know that even they can use Invisalign as well. They won’t have to worry about those awkward school photos showing a mouth full of metal.

Surprisingly enough, the cost of Invisalign is really comparable to what traditional braces cost. Another added benefit is that you won’t have emergency visits for broken brackets or popped wires. Your time at the ortho doctor is almost greatly reduced since most of the time it is just a quick checkup and getting your next tray. Overall there is much more added value to getting Invisalign!
So say goodbye to hearing those horrible names and get yours or your teens teeth straight with the clear alternative! Stay up to date with all that is new with Invisalign through Invisalign Facebook or Invisalign Twitter.
So what do you think about Invisalign? Would you consider it over traditional braces for yourself or your teen?
