Going Gluten Free

I have been heaving health issues for quite a few years now. After I had my daughter, I started having widespread pain and especially jaw pain as well as daily allergies. I know part of the allergies were from the house we lived in at the time(filled with mold) and therefore had to take allergy meds everyday. When we moved into our new house, the allergies all but stopped for quite a few months and so I didn’t have to take the allergy meds anymore. I self diagnosed that I have Fibromyalgia. I have most of the symptoms associated with it. No I haven’t been to a doctor to really get tested, but will soon. (That is one more expense and time that we don’t have right now)

I had started working out more when we moved into our new house and naturally just ate better for me foods, started juicing and lowered my carb intake. The last couple of months, my allergies have returned and have had to take allergy meds almost daily again. One thing I did learn is that the 24 hour allergy meds increase my pain, but regular Benadryl does not. Since my allergies have been acting up again, my workouts have drastically decreased and I have gone back to eating more carbs, sugar and not drinking as much water.

Ever since I had the kidney stone about a month ago, I have noticed that I have been getting bloated just about everyday… So annoying. So I started to think about what it could be causing the bloat. I decided that gluten could be the culprit since I had been eating so much of it lately. So my new task is to go gluten free and see if that is what is causing the bloat and also many of my other health issues.

I have read of many people with fibromyalgia going gluten free and it has drastically helped with their inflammation and pain. I have a feeling it might also help with the allergies that have started popping up. I have become allergic to a LOT of scents, wine, and seasonal allergies.

This will not be an easy task for sure. My littles are carb loving fools. Also, I run a home baking business and not being able to test products that I make will probably be the hardest!!! I know I saw a difference in myself when I naturally ate less gluten when I was running more and am very hopeful that it will help again.

After just one day, my belly did not get bloated last night so I am excited even for just that one victory!! Will keep you up to date on how things go. Thankfully I also just won a book from InspiredRd‘s giveaway for Fast & Simple Gluten-Free from Kumquat Blog!!! I am already drooling over the recipes!

If you have any favorite recipes or blogs to follow, leave a link below 🙂 Also any advice you may have, I am more than open to hearing it!
