There are lots of towns just far enough away from us that it we can make into a day trip. It feels like we have gone much farther away, but really it is only an hour or two from the house. We day trip down to Galveston a lot since hello beach! But there really is so much to do there besides just the beach. When you can ride down there in a vehicle that is luxurious and has all the amenities that you would want in a family sedan, then you will love when day trips go luxury. The 2016 Lexus ES 350 is sophistication, style, and comfort for a family day out.

When Day Trips Go Luxury

There is just something about Lexus design with the sharp edges that truly define the vehicle and make it more than just eye candy. The outside is just the start of the luxury and refinement while still being practical for families. The Lexus ES 350 is a good size sedan that gives plenty of legroom for kids or adults in the rear and offers good trunk cargo space as well.

We took the ES 350 on a trip down to Galveston, but it wasn’t one of those trips where I had to pack a million things for the beach. See it was cold and we were just going down to explore a bit then head to see the lights at Moody Gardens. The ride down there was smooth and comfortable with little road noise and all the creature comforts you would want in a higher end vehicle. The leather surrounding you in the beautiful vehicle gave some class and sophistication to our little day trip. See I normally drive a minivan so this is a huge step in the feel and ride that we are used to having.

My kid’s favorite part of the vehicle was the hole that leads to the trunk. They would pull down the center cup holders, and open the compartment to see into the trunk space. We even used it once to get something out a a bag we had put in the back. Pretty smart little design there and not something you always think about needing. Another smart feature is the use of window screens in the rear. There was a pull up screen on the regular window as well as the smaller side window. With having kids in the back, that second window can sometimes let in a lot of sun on little faces.

It is these kind of designs and features all throughout the Lexus ES 350 that draw you in and make you want to take a drive whether near or far. When day trips go luxury it sure begs for me to want to schedule more of them.
