Having kids brings on so many emotions, fears, joys and unexpected twists and turns. Everyday is something new and definitely keeps me on my toes. When I was pregnant, I always had that fear that something might go wrong or all the what ifs just swirled through my head.
I was blessed with very healthy kids. They have always been above average for their growth charts and weights and skills. Little Man was even walking at 9 1/2 months and Little Miss was at 10 1/2 months. They seem to be over achievers! But yet, I still wonder and hope that I am doing all that I can for them to make sure they grow healthy and strong.
We had a scare a little while back when Little Man was given the wrong dosage of cough medicine. Thankfully he was with my parents (especially my mom, who is a nurse) because he wound up passing out and stopped breathing. I was way on the other side of town and just about fell to the ground when I heard something was wrong with him. He wound up being taken to the hospital and was observed for quite a few hours. Part of it was that he hadn’t had enough liquids to flush out his system. My husband used to have seizures when he was younger so we were afraid that Dylan might have the same. We later found out that it wasn’t the case and was simply the medicine that triggered the seizure.
In all that it made me sit back and wonder what other parents go through that have kids with special needs or other disabilities to where they spend a lot of time in the hospitals and therapy. Just with what little we had to deal with and the anxiety that I had was almost more than I could handle.
It makes me thankful that there are places out there like the Hospital for Special Surgery. They are a leader in orthopedic, rheumatology and rehabilitation. They recently opened the CA Technologies Rehabilitation Center that focuses on children up to age 18.

I think it is important for parents to know that there are places out there for our kids to help with whatever problem may arise especially pertaining to growth and mobility. They offer services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and early intervention. The CA Technologies Center in located in the New York area. You can learn more by visiting their website or Facebook page.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Hospital for Special Surgery. A small donation to a charity of my choice was made in my name as a thank you for participating. You should consult with your physician or other health care provider before beginning any rehabilitation/therapy, sports training, or exercise program.
