It is no secret that I LOVE trucks. When we bought my husband a truck a few months ago it got me one step closer to being able to drive one more often. I told him it would be my weekend vehicle.. He laughed… I love the utility of them, the look, the being higher off the ground, the feel. So many things about trucks that I like and the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 LTZ is one that will go on my list of ones I would consider buying.
The interior of the truck is very similar in feel and function as the GMC Sierra that I just drove with slight differences here and there and the feel and look. First difference is in the grill. The Silverado grill (hate to say it) kind of reminds me of braces. The chrome part separated by the vehicle colored parts. When I first saw it I was not a huge fan, but it has grown on me. This version of the Silverado did not have as many tech and feature upgrades as the Sierra Denali did, but still lots of features that I liked. The grey leather was a nice touch as I prefer lighter colors. There are tons of storage areas from the center console that can fit my purse to the doors with lots of spaces.
My average fuel economy when I was driving the truck was around 16 mpg. I do a lot of driving in the suburbs and not much highway so I wasn’t able to see how well it would do with more highway miles. 16 is about to be expected for a large truck as the Silverado with a V8 engine. The instrument cluster was more on the analog side in this truck with a small digital display to see gas mileage and other features. I was a little sad that I wasn’t able to test out the off road capabilities but when you have soccer practice and games 4 days a week that puts a damper in some fun time with the truck! haha
The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was easy to drive and handle. I love that trucks are not intimidating to me to drive especially now with the addition of back up cameras they really help with seeing parts of the truck that you couldn’t before. This one didn’t have the collision/closeness sensors that the Sierra did so I had to rely more on my own sight for things like parking. If you ever thought of getting a truck but were not sure you can handle it, trust me you can. Don’t let the size scare you. There is enough technology now that can really help you navigate the roads in a larger vehicle.
The Silverado Z71 LTZ brought comfort, class, and durability in I have to say a great package.
