If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you know that out of all the vehicles that are out there…. I am such a truck girl. I have never owned a truck, but something about them I have always wanted to drive and own one. We got my husband a truck a few months ago, but I haven’t driven it much since after all it is his and he works a lot. So when I heard from my GM rep that they were going to send me the 2016 GMC Sierra Denali for a week to test out… oh man I was counting down the days.

You see this isn’t just any old truck, it is one that is decked out with all the technology that you could want in a truck plus luxurious creature comforts that you might not expect a truck to have. When I first saw it in the driveway I have to admit that I had to pinch myself because I just didn’t think that I would ever get to drive a vehicle like that. With a black exterior and chrome accents all around, it was something I could envision myself driving all the time. Just like the GMC Terrain Denali it had the chiseled look that I was really loving. This one had the powered step rails which makes it so much easier to get in and out of then the fold back to the side of the truck. This versus the regular step rails means that you have more foot space to get in and out of the tall truck.

I was heading to Austin the weekend that I had the Sierra and my SIL told me that the hotel had a garage.. Oh boy how was I going to park this big beast in a parking garage. It was an older building so their parking garage was not really set up for large vehicles. They did have the first level to park on for trucks, but hellooo it is Texas and lots of people drive big vehicles!! There was not enough space for me to park so I had to head to a neighboring garage that was more outfitted for today’s Texas size trucks. The backup camera and sensors all around the GMC Sierra Denali were a huge helped to getting the truck parked. There is even a sensor in the drivers seat that buzzes when you are getting too close so that you can adjust the way you pull in to a parking spot as well as for the rear cross traffic alert.

This truck had lots of interior room that could fit 5 adults easily. The inside styling and functionality of the truck were just what I would want and expect of a vehicle of that caliber. The Denali touches throughout brought style and luxury that this Texas girl could get used to driving. The 2016 GMC Sierra Denali has all the tech features that makes driving so much easier from: Apple CarPlay, 4G LTE WIFI, Navigation, Sirius XM, and a whole lot more. The truck really was easy to drive despite the size. Smooth handling and turning and plenty of power in the engine to get your where you need to go as well as good towing capabilities.

Overall I was really impressed with the 2016 GMC Sierra Denali. Just what I would want in a truck and a pleasure to drive. It is a bit out of my price range, but could still be doable for a lot of people.
