We had a great Christmas just spending time as a family, heading out to Moody Gardens to see the lights, spending Christmas Eve with friends and Christmas Day with family. To get around we used the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. Now if you have seen my past reviews than you probably know that I am not the biggest fan of Mitsubishi, but I thought I would give this vehicle the benefit of the doubt. Ahhh Mitsubishi… you need to step up your game.
The look of the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is fairly nice. I liked the lines and sporty exterior. The interior look is also decent. This one had a third row if that is what you can call it. My kids couldn’t fit back there, but I get why most manufacturers are trying to push to have a third row in their SUV’s. Cargo space is non existent when you have that third row up. When you take the headrest off the third row and fold them down, then the cargo space is enough for a family of four.
One good thing about the Mitsubishi Outlander is that the gas mileage was pretty amazing. We had the vehicle for two weeks and drove it a lot and did not have to fill the gas tank at all. I can rarely go two weeks without filling up. Now that is something that most families can get behind is having a vehicle that is energy efficient. I wish I could have been a little more positive about this vehicle, but I think Mitsubishi needs to take a second look at their continuous variable transmission and some of their finishes that they put in their vehicles to give it more comfort and room.

I currently drive a Mitsubishi (Lancer – 2011) and I love it; it has the CVT in it also – and that part – I don’t love. Although, I haven’t really had any trouble out of it which is saying a lot since I’m at almost 100K miles. Anyway, I’ve been drawn to the Outlander since I love my Mitsubishi and I’m desperate for an SUV with 3rd row. While I like the look of the Outlander, that 3rd row is pointless; I agree with you – they need more space in this SUV to make it comfortable for a larger family!
Yeah that brand may have some longevity just not the power I would like in a vehicle. The third row really was a joke. My kids couldn’t sit back there. I do have the Hyundai Santa Fe Limited this week. It has a third row my kids can actually sit in for now. The second row is adjustable to add more legroom for the third row. Cargo space is still very small if the third row is up but decent when at least one seat it down.
