When it comes to being a soccer mom, space in a vehicle is a must. This year I took on the role as team manager for my son’s team so I take a bench, tent, chairs, and a wagon to carry all the stuff each and every week. This means that I need a vehicle that can carry all of that equipment each week plus have space left over for groceries, kids, and everything else I need. If I am having to pack and unpack all the gear all the time, that means the vehicle is not working for me. The 2018 Ford Expedition Limited Max has the soccer mom functionality I need and space for the gear and kids.
We were testing out the Ford Expedition Limited Max on a week where we were going out of town for a soccer tournament. That means we ha d suitcases, food, and other things for our trip let alone the standard soccer gear. I will say that if we did not have the Max version of the Expedition that it would have been a tighter squeeze to get all of the gear loaded.
Some features that make the 2018 Ford Expedition the ideal in soccer mom functionality is power fold rear seats. With just the touch of a button the rear seats fold down so that I have yet even more room for the soccer gear. For the most part we don’t need a third row of seats for everyday driving since there are only 4 of us in the family, but on soccer weekends we often have extra kids ride along with us so we need to have that third row as a just in case. It is nice to be able to fold it down easily so that I can store the extra gear without having to take it out each and every weekend. There is even a button to fold the second row as well without having to go back and forth to each side if you need to haul something longer.
I highly recommend the captains chairs second row. By having the space to walk to the third row is huge for me. It is also a great separation between your kids just in case they like to poke and annoy each other. There is enough space in the center to also put their backpacks when we are heading to school.
The 2018 Ford Expedition Max that we drove was loaded with safety features. When you are driving such a large vehicle, extra “eyes” and technology that aid your driving is essential. From a backup camera, parking assist(so cool to see such a large vehicle practically parallel park itself), lane keep assist, parking sensors, and so many more. It always easy to park a large vehicle or know just how close you are to other objects, the parking sensors gives you an audible and visual clue to just how close you may be to that curb or other cars bumper.
The Limited version of the Ford Expedition boasts loads of creature comforts and upgrades. The full panoramic sunroof allows your kids to watch the sky as you drive or see the stars at night just from looking up. The inlaid wood grain and leather accents throughout just scream luxury. Pair that with heated/ cooled seats then this soccer mom will be comfortable no matter how long the drive to that next game. I also like that I can sync my iPhone with the Apple CarPlay feature so that I can see my messages and listen to my fave music all hands free.
The 2018 Ford Expedition Limited Max brings soccer mom functionality on so many levels and made our trip to Austin for a tournament a breeze. I enjoyed the comfortable ride and handling and the kids liked that they could bring all their stuff with them on the trip without being cramped. Having the extra length with the Max is a must if you are a sports mom or have a larger family.
