Yep, you heard that right. I have delved into the world of Insanity workout series. Why? My friend was going to start it, so I decided to do it as well. I needed to push myself and get back on track with my working out and get myself stronger. I had a goal again and I was going to work to accomplish that goal.
I do so much better with working out when I have a goal and really just have someone else tell me what to do. The whole Insanity program is just over 2 months long. I can do this. Maybe. I hope 🙂
I have to say that as hard as it is, I am really liking it. It pushes me each and every day to try one more exercise, do one more rep and see how far I can push my body and strengthen my core each day. I know that this will also help me get back into my running groove and be stronger from the start when I get back to my half marathon training. I think I still have a couple of months before my next half marathon, so I have time to get my body where I need it and hopefully conquer the next half marathon and bust through my PR.
I just finished Day 16 of Insanity and I could tell that I was able to do a few more reps of each of the exercises than I was able to do on Day 1. Grant it, I still wasn’t able to go the full time, but it sure makes me happy knowing that I have progressed in just two weeks. I am not seeing changes in my shape just yet, but I am sure that will come.
Wish me luck as I continue on the Insanity program and I can’t wait to update you again soon on my progress.
What are you doing to get yourself healthier this summer? New workout routine? New foods that you are trying? Let me know and if you have any great tips or recipes, feel free to share them 🙂
