I am bringing you an update from my friend Robin who is doing the New Mommy Makeover from Colleen Riddle. She was given the workout system in exchange for her reviews πŸ™‚

SO I started this journey in mid November and did my first update at the end of December then between holidays and illness I got out of the habit. Job stress set in, state testing and intense tutorials with a long job commute took a toll on me and I some how thought I was making it easier on myself by taking one thing out of my schedule. However like so many moms, it was the one thing that was just for me, to help me, that I took out. I had a conversation with Collen Riddle (founder of the New Mommy Makeover)  about how much I had let her down, what a failure I felt like. I must say she is an incredible motivator and encourager. So I committed that once school was out there was no more excuses. I began back at Phase one and started over again – but to my surprise the measurements weren’t really that much bigger! So Colleen’s program is a no gimmick no nonsense deal – no bouncing up and down with numbers! (if I had a gain it was only a half inch but not the 2 inches lost). After 2.5  weeks of phase 1 I wasn’t feeling a ton of challenge so I thought I would step it up a notch (although I should have just added the treadmill activity in looking back on it now!!) Colleen’s mapped out program DOES make sense if you actually follow it – I am just a slow learner or easily distracted! (or maybe both!)

I just started the phase 3 dvd because I cannot find where I put my phase 2 dvd in January…. I looked for it and figured ok I can keep looking for it and the baby will wake up from her nap or I can just start phase 3. How hard can it be? OW! I completed all three workouts this week and one tread mill run (2.4 miles in 45 minutes). on the other day  this week I walked 3.5 miles with many stair sets with my 1 year old in tow. After my first treadmill run in nearly 3 years I was ready to go back to the phase 1 dvd to ease my pain. I did not give in to temptation I kept strong with the phase 3 dvd and it readily has challenged me, my triceps and has more lunge variations than I knew possible! Today I did the 3rd workout, then helped rake and spread mulch and mowed the backyard in this Texas heat! I know I would not have had this stamina at the beginning of the summer.

My goals now are I need to add the treadmill in my regular routine and then to conquer my biggest battle FOOD (especially those new Lemon Twist Oreos). I am taking baby steps, but they are paying off and I can not only see the difference but I can feel the difference. My inches are coming off, my belly is slowly decreasing, and my energy is increasing! My oldest daughter has even become my biggest cheer leader when it is “time to do your exercises so you get strong.” I am happy for her to see that view of her mommy. I am so grateful for this experience and in home daily challenge to get back into shape.
