It seems to be a tradition to have kids/families take bluebonnet pics in Texas. There have been a few years that we have missed because the bluebonnets typically flower around March to April and we are busy with soccer games and practice so we don’t have the time to head out to more of the country where there are gorgeous fields upon fields of bluebonnets. I just love this flower and the gorgeous color and unique shape. One of my favorite pics of my son is when he was just barely walking and we took a day trip with my parents out to see the bluebonnets. He only lasted a few pics before he didn’t like the grass touching him, but it made for such darling pictures.
If you are ever around Washington County in Texas.. Chappell Hill.. Austin… Really along Highway 290 they grow and grow and are so abundant. I doubt that this year we will make it to the country again before the bluebonnet season is over, but there is a little spot not far from our house where some bloom and it is just enough to get a cute picture.
On Saturday I took my kids up to my In-Laws neighborhood for an Easter Egg Hunt and a quick visit, on the way home since my kids were dressed halfway decently I decided we should do a quick photo shoot with the mini hill of bluebonnets that is close to our house. Mr man was decently happy to take the bluebonnet pics but the princess was not as pleasant. It was a bit bright so the kids were squinting and hard for them to smile correctly. Also little miss decided she didn’t like the bees and bugs flying around so there weren’t many of her smiling at all..
Here are the outtakes to our Bluebonnet Pics:
Do you have any traditions where you live of pictures with certain flowers or have your own bluebonnet pics to share? I would love to see them or just me about the best pic you have taken with a landmark.
