Do your kids like bugs? Do they love reading and learning new facts about new creatures? I think most kids are pretty curious about new things and especially bugs. They can be so much more than creepy crawlers. They really can be fascinating and I love anything that helps foster my kids learning and fascination for the world we live in.
National Geographic Kids has published a new book called Ultimate Bugopedia. This book is crawling(haha) with fun facts, pictures, trivia about all sorts of bugs all over the globe. With beautiful color photos and tons of facts on each and every page. I think our favorite section was all the cool looking beetles. It just amazes me how many bugs there are out there that we have no clue even exist especially in to those of us that live close to a big city.
I think my kids wanted to learn a little more about the ants since that is about the only bugs we really see besides mosquitos! We we sent the book as well as a fun anteater toy that actually sucks up bugs so that you can examine bugs more closely without having to pick them up by hand. Seriously, this toy is cool. The nose is like a vacuum that can suck the bugs up into a clear container that has a magnifying top.
What better way to get your kids to really learn about nature and the bug world then by looking at them up close and then reading fun facts about them from this book. Hey, even mommy learned some new things, but I sure prefer to see them only in books.
One of my fabulous readers will win the book and the anteater toy ($51 value) so that your kids or grandkids can learn more about the world of bugs and who knows what it will foster in their imaginations. To enter, fill out the rafflecopter form below. Giveaway will run until 3/29/14 at midnight. Good Luck and Happy Entering 🙂
