Being a baker and just liking to try out a lot of recipes, I have stacks and stacks of paper in many locations in my house. Some of the recipes have spills or tears from being used over and over again. And of course, it takes me forever to search through them at different times of year when I want that one recipe that I make for a special occasion.
I think this is probably one of many reasons that I also am not the best at meal planning because I just don’t want to sort through all my recipes. I wind up searching the internet and printing out the recipes again or finding something different to make.
I have always wanted to see if there was a program that could put all my recipes in one place and help me to make meal plans at the same time…..
Well Guess What??!! There is something like that available. It is called Cook’n Recipe Organizer.
I don’t think I can explain how absolutely cool and super easy it is to use. You start by downloading the software to your computer. When it is finished, you are ready to begin right away. It does come with its own cookbook from the creator www.dvo.com.The recipes that are already included (appetizers, main dishes, sides, desserts, the list goes on..) look soo good and there is a wide variety to choose from. You can even add your own recipes, whether by typing them in yourself or you can even capture recipes straight from the internet. No more printing out a recipes or writing it our on a piece of paper only to have that paper lost or damaged. This software can pull the recipe straight from the internet and save it in the software.
What is even better is that you can take the recipes that are saved in the Cook’n software and then make meals plans for a day, week, month or even 3 months. You can then take the meal plans and it gives you a shopping list!!!! It adds together items from all the recipes and then also groups them by type (dairy, meat, etc). I know I am bad about looking over a recipe and writing down what I need on my shopping list, but inevitably wind up forgetting one or two items that I skipped over in the recipe.
It will take me quite some time to get all of my recipes inputed, but oh man what a relief it will be to have them all in one place and be able to easier make meal plans and grocery lists.
You can purchase the Cook’n Recipe Software from their website http://www.dvo.com where it retails for $79.99! It really is a reasonable price for such a valuable tool.
Now for the really good part!! One of my readers will win their own copy of the Cook’n Recipe Software!!!
