I am not ashamed of my soccer mom status. I earned that title about 3 years ago when we decided to put my son in soccer and now I have two kids playing. What does this mean? Two to three soccer practices during the week, and two games on Saturday. I have a van and have had one for 6 years. It serves it purpose, but I have never been a huge fan. When the 2016 Kia Sedona SXL pulled into the driveway I just knew that I would be elevating my soccer mom status instantly.
I mean just look at this thing from the outside. Chrome wheels and accents…. Oh yeah!!
The 2016 Kia Sedona SXL is everything that you would want a top notch van to have. 360° cameras, all the latest tech upgrades, heated and cooled front seats, heated second row seats, navigation, Sirius XM, two tone leather interior, and more than I can even list. Speaking of the cameras, I used them when I was in school pick up line to see how close I was to the curb since we have to snake in and out of the parking lot some of the turns it is hard to see how close you are to the curb. Turn on the cameras and you can instantly see, and you won’t be the one who does a curb check while there are lots of people in line. Don’t tell me how I know about that….
The seats are magical. I was in love with the two tone leather of a greyish color and a burgundy/black. It was luxurious and understated at the same time. I liked that it wasn’t a white leather since that shows way more stains when you have kids. On the second row I really liked how the seats split. The center seat could move forward and back on its own since it was not connected to the other two. When it was not needed for use, it folded in half and became a center console for the other two seats with cup holders. Ingenious!! My kids car seats have cup holders, but when they get older and don’t have to use boosters then they have cup holders in easy reach.
The front center console was a work of art. Besides the fact that it had a built in DVD player, I loved how the storage part could have several configurations. I would put the “keys” into part of it and our garage door opener, then I could slide it back so that the keys and opener were hidden.
There was plenty of leg room in both rows of the back which lent itself to a slightly smaller rear cargo space then I was used to having. Our foldable wagon which we carry all of our soccer gear and chairs in just barely fit in. The third row also didn’t completely fold as flat as I would have liked and it was a little clunky maneuver to get the seats to fold. It was enough to hold some pumpkins that we picked up after soccer practice 🙂
One thing missing that my kids and I both want in a vehicle… Moon roof/Sun roof. We love being able to look up or open the roof since there are plenty of sunny days in Texas. There are tons of fabulous features in the 2016 Kia Sedona SXL and for a fairly reasonable price of $43, 890 MSRP.
So what do you think? Did the 2016 Kia Sedona SXL help in elevating my soccer mom status? I sure do and wouldn’t mind sporting it a little longer!!!
