Core strength is something that I for one know that I really need to work on when it comes to running. I am just really getting in to running season and have two and a half months until I am to run my first marathon. When I was sent the BOSU for a FitFamily challenge it inspired me to want to get things moving again. The best part is that I could include my kids for we could do fitness as a family since they have a BOSU Sport that is perfect for size for kids. Both of my kids play soccer, so getting better core strength for them is essential as well.

Did you know that when you purchase a BOSU Sport, you get a free download of the BOSU Sport Kids DVD. It is a great DVD for getting your kids involved with your workouts. Just use the code BOSUSWEATPINK15.

My kids and I had fun discovering our favorite workouts. The squats were much harder than they seemed on the DVD. haha I mean really squats can be hard on a flat surface let alone one where you are on an unstable surface. Let me tell you I was feeling it the next day. Another favorite was playing happy feet. The basic idea is to run fast in place on the BOSU without falling off! It is a way to do speed work without leaving the house.

Planks are taken to a whole new level when done with the BOSU. We need to work on little man’s form just a bit more since his bum was a little high.

I love that I have a new piece of equipment for not only me, but my kids as well to use to help us as a family be stronger. It will be a big asset in my training to to prepare for my upcoming marathon and other races. I have one more bonus to tell you about, when you purchase a regular BOSU, the code BOSUSWEATPINK15 will also work for two new DVD’s: BOSU Total Body Basics and BOSU Core Basics. Get one of the two free with the code!!

If you have something you are training for like a marathon, consider adding the BOSU and BOSU Sport to your everyday fitness regime.
