I am sure you have heard of car companies doing comparison testing of their own models and their models against other companies models. It is one way to help consumers be able to really compare different vehicles and show you with first hand experience how their vehicle stacks up against the competition.
I was able to attend the Ford EcoBoost Challenge here in Houston and I have to say it was so cool to be able to experience the different type of vehicles that Ford offers and really get behind the wheel. It is not everyday that you can be able to test out so many different variety of vehicles, because let’s face it, if you wanted to do it at a dealership they might think you were a little crazy.

My favorite part of the day was taking the Ford Fiesta ST out on their track to see how fast I could get around. Now I haven’t driven in standard in a little while, but I got in and it felt like old times. Well that is after finding the sweet spot for shifting..haha Just ask my friends Clumsy Crafter and Eric Tung how good my driving was. I even got close to the professionals time of 25 seconds…If you call 9 seconds later close. I admit that his hot lap was pretty epic as I had never done anything like it before. We were holding on for dear life and couldn’t help but just laugh, much better than screaming 🙂

The next track was comparing Ford vehicles against their competitors in the market. The last track was comparing the Ford C-Max against the Toyota Prius. I was pleasantly surprised at how the C-Max really had some get up and did you know that putting on your breaks puts battery power back in to the vehicle. That is what makes these types of vehicles great for those who do a lot of city driving and stop and go traffic. Each time you put on the brakes and wish you were at home instead of in bumper to bumper traffic, just remember that you would be helping your car out.
There is only one more stop left on the Ford EcoBoost Challenge tour so if you can make it to Indianapolis then head out there to the free event. So much fun!
