I am a Papa Murphy’s Mom and was given a behind the scenes tour of my local store along with some goodies to take home πŸ™‚

If you haven’t heard of Papa Murphy’s, let me tell you, you are missing out. It is not your regular pizza store. It isn’t one where you call and have them deliver a piping hot pizza. Their concept is for you to come in whenever you have the time, order the type of pizza you would want, then take it home to bake it yourself.

This really is a great concept so you can go in stock up on pizzas for a party or just for dinners and bake it when you are ready to have it. You will also see that the ingredients that they use at Papa Murphy’s are fresh. Like veggies chopped that morning fresh, like dough that is not over 2 days old fresh.. So how does that sound?

Tiffany, the owner of the Kingwood and Humble stores, greeted us with such a warm welcome then proceeded to tell us the background of Papa Murhpy’s. She then took us back in to the fairly small back of the house to show us where the veggies are prepped, the dough is made and the walk-in cooler. They do not have a freezer.

When you don’t store food items for many many days, then the less space that you need in the back of the store to make this concept work. Dough is made in store so you know that it is fresh. Yes I am saying fresh a lot, but trust me when you taste it, you can taste the difference from regular pizza places.

They also offer Mini Murphs just for the kids. The sauce and cheese are separate so that your kids can “make” their own pizza. And don’t forget the sides and dessert pizza!!

Thanks to Tiffany for your time in showing us the behind the scenes. You were awesome and we had so much fun making our own pizza πŸ™‚
