After spending a day at the beach in Destin, our third day we were headed out to visit the local waterpark called Big Kahuna’s. Because let’s face it, having a day in the water without getting sand in every crevices is a fun break.
As we walked in, you are greeted by a fun tiki head that begins your water/tropical adventure. We started by getting a locker. I will say they are a bit expensive to rent even for the small ones. Just my opinion, but most people will be bringing in at least towels so renting a locker is inevitable and really shouldn’t cost that much…
Little Miss didn’t want to go on any of the rides so she and I took off to explore the little kid areas and lazy river. That was just fine with me since I am not a big fan of water in my face and nose 🙂 Her favorite part was a quiet place where they had small slides that she could go down on her own. I sat in the wading pool below and she played and played. We then took a couple of laps in one of two lazy rivers.
They had some of the basic fare for lunch. Thankfully there were a couple of things that the kids liked. I mean you have to refuel after having all that water fun.
The boys had fun going on just about every ride they had. At 6, he was able to ride all but a few of them. He did not want to leave and he definitely can’t wait until he gets a bit bigger to really be able to ride them all!
Overall we really enjoyed Big Kahuna’s. They also have an adventure side of the park with mini golf and raceway, but we were so tired from the water park that we headed back to our condo. It is definitely a place you can take the whole family regardless of age. The kiddie areas are great and so much fun. They do supply life vests for the littles ones.
Check out what we did the first two days in Destin, Fl.
We were given free tickets to get in to the park in exchange for a review post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Do they still have the double tubes to ride together?
