These last few months of getting ready to move, packing our things, and moving in temporarily with my parents has been tough on my eating habits. Trying each day to figure out what all I need to get done for our everyday things and then also adding packing and moving on top of it all has had my stress levels through the roof. Over the last four months I have learned a few tricks to help me beat stress eating and curb the cravings while still keeping my energy up. I will share how to beat stress eating while moving so that you can hopefully avoid some of my mistakes.

Easy to Grab Snacks

When you are moving, the last thing you want to do is to cook when you need to be packing boxes. Then once everything is packed, fast food and takeout become your everyday go to meals. I kept one bag where we had snacks like apples, oranges, applesauce pouches, granola bars, beef sticks, and things like that where I could just grab and go. I didn’t load it down with cookies and cupcakes, though I may have wanted to, but easy to grab snacks that would give me a little boost in between packing and moving boxes.

Frozen or Fresh- Ready to Heat Meals


Most likely your fridge will be the last thing that goes on the truck for moving. So in the meantime, keep some healthier frozen or even the fresh ready to heat meals that you can get at all kinds of grocery stores. This will keep you from going through the fast food line yet again and eating something that will just weigh you down. Sure the stress of moving seems to make you crave salty, sweet, not good for you foods, but having on hand ready to heat meals will help you beat stress eating while moving.

Protein Shakes

Protein shakes have been my lifesaver. All I need is water or almond milk and I can have a meal for breakfast lunch or snack anytime of the day.
