The countdown is on. School has already started in some places and in others, it will start within the next few weeks. It is time to start thinking about your morning routines and just how to survive busy school mornings without losing your mind. There are things that I have learned in the 6 years since my oldest started school that have helped save my sanity and survive busy school mornings. Some of these may be common sense, and some might be new to you.

How to Survive Busy School Mornings

-Breakfast: My kids can make breakfast last for hours during the summer. School mornings are often rushed and they don’t want to wake up or get dressed very quickly. We normally opt for quick breakfast items like cereal or frozen waffles, but as they are both very active I want them to eat a breakfast that includes more protein. Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® Three Cheese is my solution to getting a quick fresh-made breakfast for all of us without busting out the pots and pans to cook bacon and eggs each morning. My coffee has barely kicked in so no hard cooking for this momma. The whole family can heat in the microwave and go about our morning.

-Backpacks: The night before I have my kids go through their backpacks, take out trash or lunchboxes, organize papers in their folders, get things signed, and make sure that all of their homework has been done. Quite a few times my kids have forgotten until 5 minutes before we leave for school that they have homework. By checking at night right before bed, it ensures all homework is done and they can stay up a bit longer to finish it all.

-Lunches: I am thankful that for the most part, my kids like to buy lunch at school. It has cut down on a lot of the mornings of school rush to pack one. They do still take a water and snack every day, which I have them get ready and put in the fridge at night so all they have to do is grab and go in the morning. -Clothes: Picking out clothes for school, especially for my daughter, is a process. I make her choose one (at the most) two outfits that she may want to wear at night. This includes socks and shoes. I need the mornings to be grab-and-go with little thought. She can be a bear to wake in the morning. There are other things I have learned throughout the years of my kids being in school and how to survive busy school mornings. The biggest goals are to make sure everyone is clothed and fed – The Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® Breakfast Cups with their various flavors I found at H-E-B help everyone in the family be ready to take on their day. Save with this coupon offer for $1.00 off 2 Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles (offer live 8/19-9/15 or while supplies last). Check to see if they are in a store near you and fuel your mornings while you survive busy school mornings
