I have driven a Hyundai Santa Fe before, but it was a Sport edition that only had two rows of seats. While I fell in love with the vehicle as a whole, I needed more space for extra kids. The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited brought the space, styling, and functionality that I needed. With three rows of seats for a total of 6 there is space for all.
Being that this particular Santa Fe was the Limited version it of course had the luxurious styling and creature comforts that I loved in the last Santa Fe Sport that I drove. Hyundai has this certain aesthetic that just works. The flow is nice and everything is within reach and where you would expect it for the most part. This one had captains chairs for the second and third row. Makes it so much easier to get to the third row when there is not a bench on the second row.
I get why manufacturers put benches so they can claim that it seats more but in a midsize SUV only tiny kids can wind up sitting in the middle. With the captains chairs I was able to climb into the back row with not much trouble and actually felt comfortable sitting there. The floorboards sit higher in the third row so it is a little different sitting position then I might like for a long drive, but still usable and comfy.
I was able to drive the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited down to the Houston Auto Show and those who were able to take a peek inside were just as impressed as I was. I of course liked that I didn’t have to valet my van while being in a semi dressy look 🙂 This vehicle makes you feel like you are driving one of the more pricey SUVs while still really keeping in a good budget and be able to haul up to 6 people.
Of course the cargo area is a bit small when you add in the third row so at times I would fold down at least one side of the back seats to have a bit more cargo space for groceries, etc. This would be a practical vehicle for a family of four that wouldn’t always need the back row so you could have lots of cargo space, but still have the extra seats available for when your kids have friends over or a night on the town with other adults.
