I really didn’t think that a vehicle could teach me to use new energy sources that is until I had a week in the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid was able to do just that. I had this vehicle for the week that I was running the Chevron Houston Marathon. It is a vehicle that brings comfort, quiet, efficiency, and style. The look of the Sonata Hybrid is stylish and smooth. From the moment I slid into the seats, I was happy.

Most of you know I am not huge on liking cars just for the fact that I like driving up higher. I have had my fair share of cars and just don’t like sitting so low. The Sonata Hybrid thankfully doesn’t sit too low so I don’t feel like I am riding with my bum on the street. The interior is luxurious and the leather was cool and crisp. I love when vehicles have the lighter leather in them since one I have kids and don’t like all the dirt to be seen on black, but it just gives the vehicles a fresher look.

There are a lot of buttons on the dashboard which seems a bit overkill for me, but at least I don’t have to go searching in some weird sub menu just to change the temp in the car. The quietness of this vehicle was heavenly. I love a good grumbly engine on a truck, but this car was like my zen. Quiet performance, this car can go if you need it to, but it does it so quietly and efficiently. Being in the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid while I was preparing to run 26.2 miles gave me insight and taught me to use new energy sources and blend energy sources. I shouldn’t rely just on food and water to get me through a race, but pulling energy from the crowds as we jogged by and really jut enjoying the sites of Houston.

The Sonata brings luxury and style and efficiency in a fabulous package. This is a car I could see myself driving. I was able to get a 37.2 mpg while I had the vehicle and most of that was suburbs driving my kids back and forth to school. There was tons of room for the kids in the back seat. There was tons of trunk space and overall was a great pleasure to drive. Who doesn’t love a full panoramic sunroof as well!! Hyundai has blown me away once again with their vehicles. It is amazing how being able to test drive these vehicles has opened my eyes to new manufacturers that I wouldn’t have considered buying from before, but am falling in love with them each in their own way.

Thanks Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for that lesson on new energy sources, and my zen moments in such a quiet car!
