hydrated and motivated at school

Hydration is a big key to ensuring my kids have a good day at school. I also like to keep them motivated while they eat their lunches so that they know that mommy loves them and believes in them. I do this by taking Nestlé® Pure Life® Water bottles and dressing them up with a little colored tape. One of the strips of tape I use is a solid color so that I can write a message of encouragement to get them through the rest of their school day. Keeping my kids hydrated and motivated at school is easy and fun!

Walmart Nestle Pure Life

I picked up Nestlé® Pure Life® Water bottles from Walmart in a 32-count case. I then headed over to the craft aisle and found some colored tape that I could use to wrap around the bottles and dress them up with my kids’ names and motivational quotes. Some of my favorites are: Keep Up The Good Work, You Rock, I Love You, Rockstar Kid, A+ Student and more.

My kids come home telling me how their friends loved their water bottles and couldn’t wait each day to see what I would write. I love that it encourages them to drink more water by having something fun to look at and show their friends.

I agree with these Tips for Hydration by Robin Plotkin:

  • Prep ahead a week’s worth of bottled water, like Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water, for lunches or on-the-go-events at one time. Store in the freezer and remove when needed to stock lunches, backpacks or gym bags. The water will be ready to drink when your child is ready.
  • 29% of moms surveyed say that “fun tactics” would get their kids to drink more water. What’s a fun tactic? Try storing a disposable cup or water bottle on a low shelf or in the side door of the refrigerator and label it with your child’s initial. Or, use a favorite character sticker or trinket or even designate a special space in the fridge just for your child’s water!

I get my motivational dressed up water bottles ready on the weekend so that I can just grab and go for my kids’ lunches throughout the week.

Nestlé® Pure Life® recently surveyed* moms and kids and here are some of the interesting statistics they found:

  • Other tactics moms think would get their children to drink more water include using “fun” straws (40%), and choosing packaging with fun graphics or characters (29%).
  • A majority of kids say they prefer a homemade lunch (57%) over a school bought lunch. This preference for packed lunches offers a key hydration opportunity for moms – packing a bottle of water can help increase a child’s water intake for the day.

My kids take a bottle of water everyday whether I pack their lunch or if they buy it. They are allowed to get sips throughout the day and to drink at lunch time. I do what I can to help them drink more water so that they can be their best each and every day.

Nestle Pure Life Motivational Water Bottle

As a proud supporter of the Partnership for a Healthier America’s Drink Up initiative, Nestlé® Pure Life® is committed to helping families make healthier choices, starting with hydration. By establishing healthy habits in the early years of childhood, it can help form lifelong benefits called The Ripple Effect, and Nestlé is encouraging moms and their kids to reach for water first. Nestlé® Pure Life® has committed to provide nearly one million 8 ounce servings of water to kids this school year at over 20 participating schools in select markets across the country through After-School All-Stars, an organization that strives to keep children safe and healthy through after school programming. At PureLifeRippleEffect.com, moms can share tips and tricks that they use to teach their kids about the importance of staying healthy and hydrated. With this movement, moms will be empowered to send their kids off to school each day fueled and hydrated.

I always leave a love note in my kids lunch box but I’d never thought of dressing up their water bottles before, it’s a great idea and I’ll have to start doing that now, too!

My kids are loving it and I have let them choose their own tape so that makes it extra special
