I just want to first of all thank Monica of Run Eat Repeat for starting the Pile on the Miles contest last month. That was the kickstart to get me to start running again. I set my goal for 60 miles in one month and despite not really running the first week, I met my goal and did 60.4 miles and that was with having quite a few days of not running at all.
In this time,a local group also started a running group to start training for a half marathon. I have been wanting a new goal to set for myself and since I had found my love of running again, decided to join. I couldn’t afford to officially join so I have taken on the task of training myself. Also big thanks to Pam of PAMdemonium for sharing a plan with me. The race I want to sign up for is just about 15-16 weeks away so lots of time to work my way up to the longer distances.
I finished 6 miles last night on the treadmill and was surprised that I wasn’t completely worn out afterwards. I can feel myself getting stronger and it feels fabulous! I don’t run very fast, but I am more worried about distance than speed right now.
I am looking forward to pushing myself and seeing where this journey goes!!! If you have any tips on running long distance.. what to wear, what to eat, what to drink, etc. I would love tips!!! I am a newbie at this don’t want to kill myself on this first go around… 🙂

A 60 mile month with inconsistency? That is awesome! Good luck finding that consistency – a 16 week plan is the way to go coupled with a running group. Have fun on the road to your "first" 13.1 of 2013.
Sixty miles in a month? Holy cow, that is amazing! You're doing a great job. I don't have any tips, as I've only run a 5k. But best of luck to you! You'll do great!
