This post will be a bit short and sweet this week. I had dental work done this afternoon and am not feeling very good. And I realized that I hadn’t written my Mamavation Monday post yet 🙂
This last week has been a new challenge for me! Lots of sore muscles, pain and gain as I did the #2weekchallenge with the Mamavation crew on top of trying to get in my regular runs. Well the runs were definitely shortened since I was in a heck of a lot pain and soreness from working out muscles that are no where near in shape!! It has been a great challenge though and I love that I am finding other ways to workout besides just getting on the treadmill. I haven’t seen a lot of change body wise with the new workout and have really missed doing my runs. I never thought I would be saying that, but my runs really help my muscles and tension that I have EVERYDAY.
This week I decided to get my runs done first and then do each of the 2 Week Challenge Workouts. Thankfully the soreness is going away as my body gets used to working out all these new movements. I am ready to tackle this next week and hopefully some changes will come!!
The Question posed to use this week: How has Type II diabetes affected your life?
This question has actually hit home to my extended family within the last year. My dad was diagnosed with diabetes, not sure of the exact one, and had to change his eating habits and his exercise routine as well as take medication to help him control his blood sugar. He has done great with it and has now realized his limitations and how he needs to take better care of his health and pay attention to what he eats and how active he is. I think that is probably one reason that I decided to start on my own journey to better my health and to really think about what I am putting in my body and how well I am taking care of it. I want to be as healthy as I can for my own kids and be a better role model for them.

Ouch on the dental work! I hope you feel better soon. I'm so impressed that you ran and did the 2 week challenge! That's some tough love for your body. Keep it up!
OWIE on dental work! Sorry about your Dad, my Dad has diabetes, too. and it def. helpd kick start my journey to better health!
I hope you're feeling better after visit to the dentist! Isn't it funny how we can get so used to working out that we miss it even though months before we would've sworn we couldn't do it? I love that part of working out!
