I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Mom Corps YOU. I received a free trial to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
One of the most rewarding, but least paying jobs in the world is being a mom. Soon after we got married, my husband and I decided to start a family. I had always had a dream of staying home with my kids until they got older so that I could watch them grow and be there for all their milestones. The reality is that we couldn’t really survive on just one income. Between car payments, food, gas, and utilities my husbands paychecks just weren’t quite enough.
But where is someone who has been out of the workforce for so long look for a new job or help with a resume? What could I even write on a resume? Is there somewhere online that can help us moms out with questions and guidance and resources? Well, there is such place Mom Corps You. Mom Corps, a leading talent acquisition and career development firm, has launched this website to help those women/moms who are looking to get back in the outside workforce or maybe even work from home find a balance between work and personal life. This is a subscription based website.
The first page you are brought to on Mom Corps You is your dashboard where you can find insights and tools to help guide you of things to do and think about while you are looking for a job. They also have discussion forums where you can interact with other moms/women to see how they handle the balance of kids and work.
Another great section is the almost weekly events where you can listen to top female business women share their insights and knowledge. Like my question above on what to do now even though I am not going back to work until later is an upcoming event on February 27th.
Mom Corps You also has recruiters that you can chat online with and help give you direction of where you should go with you upcoming career.
I am blessed that I have been able to find random jobs from home to help support our family, but for some that just isn’t enough and that is ok. We as moms shouldn’t feel guilty if we need to work outside the home and it is nice to see that there are resources and websites out there that can help us along the way to find balance and to find a career that works for us and our families.
If you are a mom and are looking to get back into the workforce in any matter, I recommend checking out Mom Corps and Mom Corps You as a tool.
