It is here! It is finally here!! Monster University from Disney Pixar is in theaters now!! Can you believe it. I have been waiting since Monsters, Inc. hoping that they would make another movie featuring Mike and Sully. I loved the first one and the characters are so funny and appeal to all ages.
Monters U features the great vocal talent of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buschemi and Helen Mirren. The movie came out in theaters this past Friday and is rated G.
Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.
Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”), produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and features music from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and award-winning composer Randy Newman (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Toy Story 3”). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in 3D in select theaters.

We were given the opportunity to see the movie in 3D before it was released in theaters and I have to say it was a fabulous time of lots of belly laughs. The 3D part of the movie was done well and unlike most movies in 3D I didn’t go home sick and dizzy. The effects made the movie really come to life and feel like you were going to college with Mike and Sully.
Little Miss enjoyed most of the movie, though some of the jokes were over her head. There were some parts that she was a little scared to watch. There are a lot more “scary” monsters in this movie so for the younger crowds it may be a bit much. This was her first movie to see in theaters so that may have also had a play in her being more scared since the sound was pretty loud.
I absolutely loved the movie and the story line. I can’t wait for Little Man to see it and see how he likes it. The movie was witty, fun, and really brings you back to your time in college. Seriously, go see this movie if you want some good belly laughs!!
All I have to say is……Goooo Oozma Kappa 🙂

I was given free passes to see the movie in order to facilitate this review, but all opinions are my own.
I loved the first movie and am so excited to see this one!
