Caillou is a beloved character that most of us know through watching PBS with our kids for 14 years now, but did you know that he started out as a character in a book in 1990? Geared towards kids age 2-5, Caillou (age 4) goes through situations that young kids can relate to and learn from in many ways.
From going to preschool, dealing with his cat, helping out mom and dad, and woes of having a little sibling Caillou is a character that kids can feel like they are a part of and even be one of their friends in life.
To help celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of the first book, Imports Dragon and DHX Media are coming out with a new item the Talking Caillou Doll. This is the first licensed product that they are debuting leading up to the anniversary.
My kids instantly knew who was coming out of the box and wanted to play with the Caillou doll right away. They loved his backpack and put tiny toys in it for him to carry around. They had even more fun to hear all the phrases that the doll could say and did their best attempt to repeat the French words. No they had no idea what they were saying, but it was cute.
If your kid is a Caillou fan, then they will love this doll. It will start hitting store shelves this Spring so be on the lookout! MSRP $34.99
