In June I was able to visit New York City for the very first time. To be honest I never thought I would enjoy New York. I live in the suburbs of Houston and I have never really been in a big city where people walk everywhere and is a big tourist city. Yes Houston is big, but our downtown is not one that I have much desire to really walk around in. New York is a whole other world in and of itself. I have to say though that I absolutely love it there. To be able to walk most places that I wanted to visit, discovering new stores and restaurants on every street.

In fact just behind our hotel was Friedman’s restaurant where they can do just about any item on their menu gluten free. The gluten free chicken and waffles there was spectacular. Oh how I miss meals like that. It was full of flavor and if I had been blindfolded eating it I would have never known it was gluten free. We wound up eating there a couple of times. One of their breakfast items was a duck breast sweet potato hash with hollandaise that was mind blowing.

On one of my last days in NYC we were able to finally visit almost all of the major landmarks that you would want to see mostly on foot! It was amazing. Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Statue of Liberty, and so many more. Here is New York City through my eyes and photos.
