PBS is a household name all over the country. I remember watching it as a kid and always enjoyed learning new things. Now with kids of my own, we have become faithful PBS watchers. Some of the new shows that they have on are such good learning tools for kids. Little Man discovered Dinosaur Train a little while ago and has been hooked ever since. Thanks to his grandpa, Little Man has become lover of all things trains and what better way to incorporate that love than to learn about dinosaurs at the same time. In fact, we are even watching it as I write this review.
What I also love is that PBS has introduced the Nature Trackers Club to help encourage viewers to get outside, get into nature and make their own discoveries. So what is the Nature Trackers Club? DINOSAUR TRAIN Nature Trackers Club is a community of young children, their families and educators committed to learning about nature and doing good things for their environment. Nature Trackers enjoy exploring and having adventures, respecting their environment, collecting things, tracking and observing plants and animals, and challenging themselves to get outside and make discoveries every day.
To become a Nature Tracker, you simply print out their guidebook and complete a challenge. Once you have completed 4 challenges, you can mail in the membership form to receive a special token. The most important rule is to have fun. They also have Monthly challenges that you can participate in as well. For the month of March, the challenge is to make a windsock.
I love this idea of getting outside and really discovering new things about our world. Little Man has become so inquisitive and wanting to learn more and more each day. I struggle to find things to do with him and activities to keep him busy. PBS Kids has so many great resources to help us as parents further educate our children.
In conjunction, Murals Your Way has 15 murals to choose from to bring your child’s love of Dinosaur Train into your home and on your walls. They generously offered to send me a mural for Little Man’s room. It was so hard to choose between the different scenes of the Dinosaur Train and the characters.
